Mr. Lyle Quarles of Tepid Spring, KY spent his working life painting barns — “CHEW MAIL POUCH," “SEE ROCK CITY” and, every now and then, a clothing store or car dealer closer to home.
Lyle is also a loyal listener to MUSIC FROM THE HILLS OF HOME and, when he heard our Fall Membership Drive was coming up, he decided to show his support the best way he knew how.
He painted this gem right along Route 23 to remind folks when they can call in to support the show. The Sunday edition of the INKWIRE had this picture (front page, above the fold) and called his work, “…a triumph.,” and noted, “...rarely has a board and batten building meant so much to so few so far away.”
Now, we’re not asking you to paint your barn, but we would appreciate your call between 6:00 & 9:00 PM on Sunday, September 21. ANY PLEDGE — big, little or in the middle — helps WNKU continue to share great music.
And if you can’t join us for the show, you can become a member by going to the WNKU website and selecting the “Support WNKU” tab. Just be sure to mention MUSIC FROM THE HILLS OF HOME when you sign up.
